TAMPA – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that claimed the life of at least one victim.

The crash occurred around 2:15 Saturday morning on Hillsborough Avenue between Countryway Boulevard and Double Branch Road. Three vehicles were involved in the collision, killing at least one victim, who has not been identified at this time. At least one other victim was transported to St. Joesph’s Hospital in Tampa.

Hillsborough Avenue was closed in both directions for the duration of the investigation, and was reopened around 7am.

FHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident and has not released any official statement.
