    ST. PETERSBURG – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in St. Petersburg.

    It happened Wednesday morning on the ramp from I-275 southbound to 118th Avenue North. Officials say a SUV left the roadway for unknown reasons and rolled over down the embankment.

    The unrestrained driver was partially ejected and pinned under the SUV. Bystanders moved the SUV off the vicitm but he was pronounced dead on scene by paramedics. Another passenger was taken to a bay area hospital.

    No further information was released.

    TAMPA – Hillsbrough County deputies are investigating the death of a driver on Flower Avenue.

    The crash happened early Saturday morning near Jefferson Road. It appears that an older model Chevy Camero lost control and struck the concrete wall.

    The driver was pronounced dead on scene. FHP has not released any information.

    TAMPA – A Tampa man is facing felony charges after shooting at a Tampa Police helicopter Saturday morning.

    The helicopter was on routine patrol around 3:13am when someone fired at it in the area of Nebraska Avenue and 109th Avenue from the Pelican Mobile Home Park.

    Grounds units surrounded 10901 North Nebraska Avenue Lot 17 and took Thomas Henry into custody without incident. The shotgun was also recovered.

    Henry faces aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and shooting at an aircraft in flight. Alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

    The TPD pilot and observer were uninjured.
